1990 V6 Mass air flow flow part #?
Hello everyone, im purchasing a mass air flow sensor from a junkyard in El Paso, TX. And wanted to know if a 94 v6 air flow sensor is the same part number? What years work with the toyota V6? I own a 1990 toyota 4x4 SR5 V6, I am barely repairing my truck, a diagnosed one of my problems as MAFS. Any pics bc it looks the same? I dont want to waste money!!!..no refunds..thank you........

I scrounged Pick-n-Pull for the AFM to fit my '89 4Rnr 3VZE. I found that the AFM from a Corolla 4A-GE (16 Valve) had the same specs (ohms) that the 4Rnr FSM called for. Minus the ducting, they were physically identical. This part has performed flawlessly for about 5 years. Part # 22250-74120.
Pick-n-Pull has a pretty cool "30 day exchange for credit voucher" policy on all parts, but a MAS/AFM part costs about $30 now days, still a good deal if you need one.

Your truck doesn't use a mass air flow sensor (MAF) those came along around 1996, it uses a vane or volume air flow meter (VAFM) or (AFM for short).

You're just calling it by the wrong name, a MAF is competely different type of air measuring device. A MAF measures air flow by using a hot wire (the more air that flows by the hot wire the cooler the wire gets) and the estimate of air flow is by mass. A VAFM measures air flow by a spring loaded flap door (the more air that flows by the wider the door is pushed open) and the estimate of air flow is made by volume.
Sorry I can't help with the part #, but I thought it might at least help if you called it by the right name, especially if you're dealing with salvage yards.

You're welcome, I did a search on Car-part.com for a 90 V6 air flow meter and they list everything from 89-95 as being a fit, so that's usually a good indicator the part number didn't change for those years.
