1990 Lift removal help.

I'll start off by saying I'm pretty new with Toyotas. I've had a couple newer ones but none this age or with "modifications". I took the truck in on trade a week or so ago and it's in excellent shape, no rust on frame or body. The truck came lifted with 33's which I don't have any desire to keep on the truck. I noticed the truck had front leaf springs and didn't really think anything of it. After a little research I found that straight front axles stopped in 85. So I'm guessing either a frame or axle swap. I'm wanting to remove the lift which is no problem for the back end as it's just blocks but on the front I'm a little lost on what I need to do. The springs look factory based on what I can tell but the rear mount definitely looks modified based on the welding job and the front spring mount just looks of to me but may not be. I haven't been able to really find any good reference pics. If anyone could help guide me on removing the lift and getting it back to factory or close to it ride height or have some pics for reference I would greatly appreciate it. I'm not sure if I need to post here or in the section for 80s trucks. I'll post pics of what I have.

I would love to have a SAS on my '89..

if I were you, I would just have that shackle mount redone (and anything else that looks suspect)...in other words, have the truck looked at by somebody who knows what they are looking at, suspension wise

one of these days I'll get the sas, and have the bed bobbed and dovetailed too..

Yep, the springs are already pretty flat(no real lift or arch) You can lower a bit with the rear shackle mount. Look at Trail Gear or Marlin Crawler instructions for the SAS kit. You cut a hole and weld in a shackle bushing tube above what you have now. Also there are lower profile front spring mounts. That's about it for going a little lower. The SAS is done. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Some one has hacked off the front frame of an 85 and welded It on your truck, same with the poorly done shackle mounts. They also went back wards with putting push/pull steering on it instead of highsteer to adapt to the IFS steering box.

A sky low profile hanger and putting the shackle tubes through the frame will bring it down. Youll probably want some better front springs, Im assuming they are stock solid axle springs.

You cant revert it to "stock" because they cut off all the IFS parts.
