1989 Toyota pickup with the 3vz won't hold an idle

I have an 89 Toyota pickup with the 3vz I have to pump the gas to get her fired up, and once it's running it'll backfire off the headers and out the back end once it warms up that disappears, which is normal for when it did hold an idle. I replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filter which was not cheap I put new plugs in cleaned the air filter. It will still not hold an idle I jumped the obd1 code and found no check engine codes. The truck will run if I keep my foot on the gas. Once it's warm I can drop the rpms down to around 1200 or 1000 revs per minute anything below that and it's start shake rough bog and die and then I'll have to pump the gas to keep it going. I'm fairy mechanically inclined my dads a heavy duty mechanic but we're stumped any help would be awesome please and thank you!

Sound just like the problem I'm having with my '88 3VZ-E. What did you do to fix the problem?
