1988 4Runner gas tank restoration saga
Just went through my fuel pump, sending unit, and tank for a full rebuild due to rust/corrosion, which was causing a no start condition.
I used a combination of OEM replacement parts and an aftermarket Tank sealing kit from KBS coatings to deal with the rust.
Documented the mini-project over on Mud. It has a list of all the OEM part numbers and a walk through of the process in case anyone is interested.

What looks like rust inside the tank is just chemical build up. I have cleaned many tanks. Rusted tanks are usually from mud sitting on the top surface. I will move the thread to the correct section.
