Hey guys, thanks in advance. I searched for the procedure on several different forums and didn't find what I'm looking for.
I have an 88 4 runner, leaking gear oil. at the right axleshaft on front diff. Clymer manual says to remove the cover and then slide hammer the axle out. Are the c-clips inside to remove or do they have spring clips like cv axles? Manual doesn't say anything about them, I've got the diff sitting sideways in a crate and could easily change the seal without draining the fluid if I knew there was nothing inside to hamper the axle removal.

nothing inside to hamper axle removal. pull em if you got em. no need to remove diff cover.
