1986 Toyota REC Wiring Help

I am looking to replace a wire. The top wire it runs from the Ignitor Assembly (photo with black tape on wire) over the valve cover (silver duct tape) to the upper & lower intake (haven't tried to look here because that's where the problem lies). I bought the Moho in Palm Springs. I have driven it 8000 miles since. No issues beside the expected oil leaks. My mechanic just rebuilt the front end (timing, water pump etc) and replaced the valve cover gasket. Engine started right up afterwards. I was asking him about the wire in question and moved it and the engine died. It started right up and we moved the wire again and it died again. We decided not to do that any more. I would like to replace the wire but not until have the replacement in hand. I have had no luck of anyone knowing what this wire is. I would hate to replace the whole harness if possible everything else works perfectly. Does anyone know what this wire is? Is it available or can it be made for me. I would appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks for your help in advance.

Id say under one of those duct tape area there is a splice that is bad and opens when you move it.
From the plug it looks to be a 3-wire cable not to thick
I'd cut off the plastic sheathing losly holding the 3 wires in a loom and replace them one by one.
Use equal ga wire, Solder the wire splices.
Make sure to put 2 separate 2" long shrink tubes on the wire before the last soldering to seal the splices.
Then just electrical tape the 3 wires in a loom. Don't have to cover they whole length just enough spots to keep them bundled.
Easy job.

Joe I appreciate the response. Since my post I used a spark wire clip to suspend the wire off of the valve cover. Then secured the length of the wire with zip ties. I haven’t had any issues since. I spoke to an electrical shop that said it was part of the one piece wiring harness. They would be happy to make me one for $1500. One day when I’m feeling brave I will follow your advice by removing the duct tape and repairing the wire. Thank you.
