what does this wire go to ?

I'm working on a 1994 22re pick up and the previous owner has disconnected a wire that I'm trying to find what the wire was connected to. This wire comes out of the wiring harness at the same point the the ground wire that connects on the outside of the intake and the last two injector plugs come out of the harness. If there was a plug on it , it has been removed ? Can any one tell me where this wire goes to ?

What remains of the end of the wire is black, the wire is inside the thin black tubing, it feels like there is more than one wire in the tubing . I think the the other wire is broke off inside the tubing. Its directed toward the cab in line with the last injector plug. It's not the starter wire and the truck will run without the wire.I replaced the head gasket and I could have pulled the wire loose but If I did I was not aware of it, I think it was loose when I bought the truck

If i remember right, I think there was a black wire in the harness like you described that wasn't connected to anything. I could be wrong..I'm looking for a pic. If you post up a pic of the wire in question it will be a lot easier.
