I have a 93 v6 dlx pickup 4wd at stock height and i need some new rims and tires. I found some nice 15x8 but the offset and backspacing is too far off and will cause rubbing and stick out of the fender too far. I have found a set of 16x8 XD series Hoss Black and really like them. They have an offset of 0 and a backspace of 4.50 in. I plan to put some BFG A/T 225/70 or something close to that on these rims. Will these rims and tires fit my stock height Yota without having issues of rubbing or hitting the suspension? Should I stick with trying to get 15x8 rims or is 16x8 the way to go?Any help would be great as I find what tires and rims will fit to be pretty confusing.

 

Well, the 16 part of 16x8 wheel size is the diameter of the wheel.
Just remember that for the same type (brand) of tire, the 16" version (for basically the same size tire) will, virtually, always cost more than the 15" version.

Call your tire dealer. Tell them your current tire and rim size and the new rim size and ask what size tire would fit the new rim without altering the tire diameter / circumference.
You'll end up with various choices all amounting to slight ups and downs in diameter but mostly affecting the width of the tire.

 

225's are pretty skinny for an 8 inch rim (on a truck anyway) I know because i've got a set of 225/70r16's on some 16x8 land cruiser rims. They do fit and seat just fine but they look a little funny...
