Is 14mpg bad?

Mine odom reads 1/10th short per mile, so 10 miles per 100 must be added.
I recently clocked 24mpg on a highway trip from CT back to Melrose MA. I’m still in disbelief!

93 v6
I have a 93 DLX x cab I bought BRAND NEW! Yes 1 owner and I drove it off the lot stock @ 15 to 16 miles per gallon. LOL I just found this sight and after 26 years I guess it's time to spend some money on it. I've put 1 set of breaks, 1 power steering pump, factory recall head gasket at 91k along with timing belt, and a new clutch less than 2 yrs ago in 26 years!

Yes the v6. Stock off the lot brand new was 16 mpg. I think its the low gear tranny. I hit 5th hear at 50 mph and toos out at about 65 70. At 75 you think its about to blow lol. Lot of people in NC tras talk the engine saying it blows up at about 125k but they all are driving them too fast up and down the mnts at too high RPMs. I never get above 65.

Yes the 22re likes to rev (a good thing to, considering how much power it has) a lot more than the 6's do. Everybody, myself included, out here used to say the v6 was a junk motor too. But there are sure a lot of them still on the road. They are actually a very reliable motor when compared to practically anything except some of the other motors Toyota came out with. I think the headgasket issues they had new really gave them a bad rap.
