Hello, recently had my CAT stolen at around 260k mi, so had one installed by a muffler shop. Anyone think this caused my HG to blow shortly thereafter?

Havin a new engine put in, will this new CAT blow my new motor??

I strongly doubt that it was caused by the new cat, but it may have been triggered by the change. Has the original motor ever been apart? At 260K, it's time something gives. Perhaps the new cat flowed a little more exhaust, and changed something just enough to trigger the HG failure.

Then again, IMHO, I would write it off to coincidence. As long as the cat was installed properly (difficult to mess up, but not impossible), and everything else is in good order, your new motor should be fine.

Thanks fellas, feel alot better now. Old engine never really apart just timing belts and valve adjust a long time ago. I think the new CAT does flow better. At least it was a little louder.
