I'm thinking 'bout buying a 1 or 2" BL from 4crawler.com and my questions are: has anyone who has bought/installed this BL run into any unforeseen problems with the A340H tranny? Can this be done by just 1 person? And 'bout how long should/did it take for installation? My rig paticulars are in my sig line....

I did mine with one other person. It's easier to deal with the front bumper with two people, and you have someone to hold the bolts in place, and slide the spacers in , and another to slide the bolt in. I think it could be done with one person, but it would probably be a PITA.

I have not done it with the A340H tranny. But I'll give some general pointers.

I would suggest going with the 1", unless you absolutely need the 2".

The 2" requires quite some extra work besides just inserting the blocks. I had to extend my steering shaft, drop the fan, adjust the front bumper, mess with both shifters, and probably some other stuff that I can't remember. Most of this is not needed if you are doing a 1".

The total process took me and another buddy about half a day, but 90% of it was adjusting all those other things I just mentioned. A 1" would have probably only taken an hour or two, since all we'd have had to do is lift the truck and insert the blocks.

And I would also recommend going through 4crawler for everything.

Definitely go through 4crawler. And go with the 1" too. I put the 1" on my 4runner and had no problems it took a while cause we started it at dusk and we didnt use jacks...don't do that. And the bumper was the toughest part for me i ended up waiting for the daylight to come to put that on but once i started the bumper only took liek 20 minutes.

About 3 hours start to finish. The bumper was the biggest PITA. You are better off just drilling holes in the stock bracket than dealing with the damn Allen Wrench sockets on the bracket that comes with the kit.

Thats what I was thinking. I was leaning more towards the 1 than the 2". Don't really need the body lift with the 31's I have now, just wanted a lil more clearance. I also plan on BJ spacers in the future. And I'm diffently going thru 4crawler. Can't beat the price.

I did a 1" on my pickup by myself with 200lb of bumper/winch to move to get to the front mounts. I used a floor jack and 2x4's. Took me about 3 hours. I have a 5spd though.

if you went with a 2" b/l, in the future, you could do the drive train lift as explained on 4crawlers site. you would not have to worry about the shifters but the steering shaft issue would need addressing. its all in there, give it a read through.

I did the 1" RB BL with a A340H and I had to make a little spacer for the shifter linkage thing (IIRC it was for the transfer case shifter). Its the linkage pivot point that is bolted to the bottom of the cab. Roger sells one for a 2" lift, but I needed a smaller one for about a 1/2" adjustment.
