First, you'll want to try the forum specific to the 96-02 model year for more responses.
Secondly, I'd have to check, but I'm pretty sure you will have to pull the steering wheel to change out the turn signal switch. Not that big of a deal, loosen one nut, smack it a few times, and pull it off. Airbags make a lot of people nervous though, so be sure to disconnect the battery before you unplug anything and you'll be fine.
With your homelink, does your garage door have a hard set code, or is it a rolling code system? A lot of them anymore are rolling code systems and have a special programming sequence that involves the program button on the garage door itself. Visit www.homelink.com for more details

Yea, I had a slight mess up while browsing the forum and watching DVR...Thanks for the homelink heads up, I see the part that I'm missing now.I've put up a cloned thread in the appropriate sub-forum, mods feel free to delete this thread.
