yoder519 back in a yota!!!

well i sold my dodge cummins the 29th of december, and wanted to get me another yota. the Cummins was jsut to much for a DD IMO and the payment/insurance was killin me. so i found this ORIGINAL OWNER rusty 85 SR5. this is the only pic i have it was taken off the internet. i bought it yesterday. the truck has 230k on it but it was rebuilt less than 100mi ago. he rebuilt it late 08 and just used it to haul wood and whatnot for a year. it has a sunroof, cruise control, pwr windows(gettin rid of that) and no AC fro some reason. i picked it up fro $1000. i think i did pretty good. this is the 5th 84/85 ive ever seen in person and the first one ive seen forsale. it has a 3rd gen bech seat in it cuz soemone stole the buckets bout 5yrs ago. it also has a new clutch and flywheel.teh bed is SHOT. this is the good side. im gonn aput a flatbed on it soon. frame is solid.

plans are flatbed, bucketseats, 5.29s, MC 4in trail flex kit, 37x12.50s, sliders, MC front bumper, winch, lockrites F&R. oh yea and new front fenders and tube doors

yea i got great mileage in my dodge with 35s. i go taround 17 sity and the best i ever got was 21.5 on the interstate. but i figured it up the old fashioned way so its not accurate. the way i look at it.... diesel is almost $3 a friggin gallon here. gas is about $2.40 or $2.50 so it won t be alot of difference. plus maintenance on gas trucks vs diesels is AOLOOOOOOTTTT cheaper. ill prob end up gettin a chevy 2500 gas.

Nice '85. Ya the rust is always a pain to deal with, but as long as the frame is solid. Sounds like your going to turn it into a trail rig not a DD

Good luck!

yessir. but i got insurance on the 85 to. i appreciate the comments! its ALOT more reliabel to. teh guy put a HG on it, then it wouldnt idle, but it was in time, he pulled the pistons ou tand the rings crumbled off. the 4th cylinder was fine but 1 2 3 was gone. the truck has 164k on it, he put a motor outta anothe r95 with 120k on it. thsi has been the best week of my life lol
