windshield seal

Hi guys, is there a way to reseal my 85 4runner windshield without using the factory seal and chrome trim. Seems like a read somewhere about a rubber seal that works.

Plenty of sellers on ebay. Not sure about their quality or who you'd want to order from. You may save a little going with an ebay seller but, I think this guy and seal are legit.

last resto we did on this Generation , we did it as factory with the urethane and mouldings , but we had the w/s out , and blasted the window frame .
see the thing is , its not the moulding that makes it rust , its the installer ! because the glass is urethaned in , it has to be cut out when being replaced . old days it was a razor blade , and you always cut into the metal
if the metal isnt sealed , it will just rust .
I have an /86 with the factory w/s , so it has never been done , and the frame is perfect , not a speck of rust .

yes , you actually have to grind the glass to fit !
there has been a couple of guys on here saying they have been successfull in installing with out grinding , but I have never found that to be the case ... I have done many , and every one has to be ground
