Where is the O/D relay?
Greetings fellow gearheads!
I have a 85 pup 4x4 auto 22re. The O/D switch no longer works. I disassembled the switch and it is OK. I think it may be the relay, but I cant locate it. The O/D is ridiculous tall, and i would like to be able to switch it off on hills or under load.
Thank you

I thoroughly searched the Forums and the only location that is noted is by the fuse panel under the Drivers side dash. I cannot find a relay in that location.
Anyone have an idea?
When a bought the truck a few months ago, the button on the shifter worked. but has now stopped working. no lamp, no down shift, nothing.

Ok ive done more research. I found a Haynes manual which shows my circuit, and it does not have a relay. The switch toggles a ground signal to the ETC. So maybe it is the solenoid? Oh and I found my O/D "OFF" lamp to be burnt out. I'll unplug the ETC tomarrow and check to see if am getting the GND toggle signal all the way to the ETC.

Problem solved! The button has gone intermittent and no longer latches on. if I hold the button in it downshifts into 3rd. If i wiggle the button while holding it It will jump from 3rd to OD and back again. I think ill just add a OD toggle switch to the console and bypass the shifter button.
