Well... do you want a 1st Gen 4Runner with a solid axle?

Are you prepared to rebuild the engine yourself?

Without pics or actually being there to drive the thing, it sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Maybe use the engine rebuild as leverage towards the best price.

Personally, I'd jump on it... I really like the 1st Gens and this one sounds like a good starting point for all sorts of projects.

Heck, you can probably sell the factory inclinometer by itself on E-Bay for close to $100.

22REC is the standard engine...everyone calls it the 22RE. Then there is the 22R (carb) 22RET (turbo).

I believe it stands for Electronicly controlled.

me, i would me asking this kind of thread myself (i have...maybe you've seen them) but i think if you have the resources, can and are willing to rebuild it and repaint it, its a good deal! talk him down maybe a bit if you can, but if you like the proposition or rebuilding it, add up all your costs, and see if you want to pay THAT much. maybe its cheap now but say you need to drop 3k in engine, drivetrain, and body work...plus the effort. is it worth it to you?

if so...hell yes go get it.

yes where going to get it, we got it running lol, the timing was off, so we moved the dizzy till it started, i think some one did a chain replacemnt and screwed it up, they broke the timing chain cover where the mistory bolt gose. but it will fire up and run but not good. the guy got like 9 offers today for even more money than hes asking for but he promised it to us so we just got to meet up and pay for it.

I think you've seen my write-up and I'm now 5 grand into it from buying the truck until now but it's daily-driving now. How is the turbo doing now? I haven't seen any posts about it.

If that truck was around here and I could hide it from my wife, I'd buy it!!
