What is going on here?? Drum brakes on an 84

I am at the end of a rear break job on an 84 4x4 22r. I replaced the old drum brakes with the entire kit.
The problem I am having is when I finished both sides the amount of adjustment was all they way tight. The brakes were adjusted all the way to the end. There was no more adjustment allowing the drum to spin freely. This being said, What other issue is going on here? I had the e brake off and the drums will not spin freely. They are still slightly bound up.

Yes, that is correct. The shoes are adjusted all the way in and no spin .
I am doing a knuckle rebuild on the SA on this rig and both of the calipers are frozen and not working. They were pretty rusted but I have seen worse that were still working.
Could this be the master cylinder causing all this??
And as for the rear what should I do?

I have a feeling the wheel cylinders are toast. I ordered a set and I am going to change them out in the morning. If anyone has any other ideas I would appreciate it very much
thanks

The wheel cylinders may be stuck out. See if you can push them in with an object similar to the forks that push into the shoes. This happened to me after rebuilding my entire rear brakes and master cylinder.

WOW!!! I needed to revive this threat because a different 82 I am working on the rear right drum is seized and was smoking like no tomorrow. The wheel cylinders I replaced in addition to everything else on the rear including the master cylinder.
I have no idea what is going on here the right is so tight I cant get the drum back on. The drum will not slide over the shoes.
I don't know what to check at this point.
I put a screwdriver on the lip of the cylinder and tried to push it back in. It went in but didnt solve the problem
What else can I check here???

None of the suggestions have worked. Trying to figure out what else could cause this.

If I can't figure this thing out today I will post up some pics. One thing that is interesting my 82 FSM shows the separator bar between the two shoes reversed. It is impossible for it to be like that due to the e brake mechanism on the rear side of the axle. I cannot figure for the life of my why it is depicted like that.
One more day into these rear breaks
Funny, I just rebuilt the whole damn truck. Tranny, motor, front end, rear end, new everything and I mean everything. I tune it fire it up and I am headed to the smog place and the rear right wheel is seized up!!! After all that. I need a new hobby.

Does the emergency break cables to the inside of the drum move freely ? The e break may not be returning completely to the released position. I had this happen on a truck years ago.

On the 82 I believe it is the duo servo type. If that is correct then the short is always opposite of the adjuster cable?? In other words the short shoe should never house the little cable bracket and cable??
I just wanted to make sure I got this absolutely correct.

WOW!! Tore into it this morning and after an and hour of measuring I found that the backing place where the drum meets was bent and forcing the drum upward putting pressure on the shoes. I called a buddy of mine who had an 83 rear end and he gave me the complete passenger side axle
Problem solved. What a total pain.
