you confuse yourself dude, i just asked the clerk to see visualy the MC and what he has in stock, i never said i wanted to do it.
my question remains simple, is there 1inch MC made of iron ? so if i EVER want to do it to not get the same MC that i already have

and btw, the truck wont stop better with the 1inch MC. required effort and pedal travel are the only factors that will get affected if i change the MC size. pure mathematics and semantics.

If you have a larger diameter master, it moves more fluid. Which makes the fluid in the calipers and wheel cylinders move accordingly. It makes the brakes more responsive, meaning it stops easier with less pedal effort. If you applied the same amount of pressure as with a smaller diameter master, you would be applying alot of pressure which could cause lock-up situations.

And you did say you were going with the larger master...

 

Anyone know if this would work on a straight front axle? Planning a SAS to my 86 pickup. Thinking it would be good idea to upgrade brakes

 

yes. That is what all this talk is about... Upgrading the smaller calipers, booster, and master on the early solid axles, to the larger calipers, dual diaghram booster and one inch diameter master cylinder from the later model IFS trucks...

Your 86 may have some things that you can swap over. You have to do some research on this site and it will tell you years and models that will work.

 

I have an 85 and its time for some new rotors and pads. I've read many many posts about upgrading from the solid rotors and small calipers and am confused as to what year rotors and calipers I'll actually need. I'm not looking for the absolute best, just to upgrade to the vented rotors and larger caliper. Would 95 pickup rotors & calipers work? Any help is much appreciated.

What worked for me was '83 Land Cruiser FJ60 rotors and calipers and pads for a '90 V6 4Runner. The master cylinder, if you end up desiring to do that, was from Marlin Crawler, I believe the 1" bore meant for '88-'95 4Runners, not the Land Cruiser FJ80. The "standard vented rotors" from Marlin is the proper rotor, too, then you'd just need the V6 4Runner calipers and pads, then master cylinder if you want. Hope that spells it out for you.

I have a 1986 4x4 IFS pickup 22re and my caliper froze and the rotor looks to be warped.
I was looking to upgrade to a 1995 V6 4Runner Rotor and Caliper set. Would these swap right over to the 1986 (+ trim backing plate) ? i have 15" rims

I DO NOT want to change the Master Cyl or Booster!
