Question ug! hung up on a throw out bearing of all things- could use the help

Toyota Pickup
1984
4x4
Stick
22R
6" Lift

Replacing the clutch for my uncle, and everything was goin fine until I came to the throw out bearing of all things- I've never had a problem here before. Well the bearing hub/carrier is the problem... I finally separated the carrier from the bearing and as it turns out, the carrier's shaft on which the old bearing was pressed, is too large for the new bearing The shaft is plastic... am I supposed to grind the plastic to where the new bearing will slide on? at a loss here guys... also the profile of the new bearing doesnt match the old one... meaning the distance between the carrier and the contact surface of the bearing is significantly less on the new bearing than the old one... so I'm not sure if grinding the plastic would work anyway... anyone been through this- can anyone shed some light?

Marlin Crawler had the answer. As it turns out there's two types of throw out bearing carriers that will work for this truck model... the stock one, and the one from the next newer model... since the later model truck carrier/bearings work for the older models too, some auto parts stores just stock the later model parts- so it looks like the prior owner got a hold of one of these and the thing is they're not designed to be separated form the bearing- thats why the bearing from kragen will not work with it... prior owner must have just thrown the old oem carrier away. Anyway mystery solved finally
