transfer shifter problem

I have an 84 truck and when I put the t-case in 4low the transmission shifter hits it when I shift into 2nd gear we have tried to turn the t-case shifter around but then its in in 4th gear while in 2wd is there another year model that comes with a shorter shifter? Has anyone had this problem before?

Try bending the t-case shifter for clearance. Bend it at the small diameter section at the bottom. No heat is needed.

There is a chance your shift seat bushing is very worn and the extra slop in the shifter is causing it to hit. Marlin Crawler makes a shift seat bushing that is stronger than stock.
