TeraFlex Shackles for 84Runner
Anybody have teraflex shackles? And if so, are these any better than just solid shackles?, I won't be doing severe rock climbing or anything, just some off-road and trail driving.
Thanks

From what I understand the tera flex shackles have a tendency to unload at the wrong time, like on a steep downhill decent causing the truck to endo or come close. I looked into them many years ago and decided against it.

Thanks for the input, I'll stick with the rigid type.
What's the most common lengths used? I know what stock is 3.5" from bolt to bolt, I was thinking of the 5.5" shackle (so 2" over stock). and shortly after that, the next purhcase will be OME springs (again, only wanting approx 2" out of the springs). Will that work?

Some good shackle tech from Roger Brown here:

Expect 1 inch of lift for each 2 inches of increased shackle length, so 1 inch of lift from the 5.5 inch shackles you are proposing. Good luck.
