Will a bed from a 96+ Tacoma fit on a 84 pickup ext cab and what would you do with the gas cap on the driver side

Someone actually put a taco bed on a 3rd gen (89-95)
But, They had to mod the bed mounts, and the body lines didnt quite lined up..
Oxy-moron : It looked weird, but it also looked pretty badass !

I forgot what they did with the gas tank situation..
