Swapping efi for carb with good reason

So I have a strange task at hand. I currently have an 86 4runner that has ifs and efi also a tranny that's about smoked. I have found an 85 solid axle and carb with good tranny for $300. So my plan is to pull my engine because he says the engine in the 85 got hot but first I'm going to do compression test and what not. But it's not really worth the trouble for me swap efi also so I was wondering is there anything that must be switched with distributor and that sort of thing. I have read that the intake will bolt up I'm just going to rebuild the original carb.
Any help will be appreciated thanks!

So you're just swapping the good engine from the '86 into the '85? If that's the case, I'd just swap over the long block from the '86 and use all the accessories, distributor, intake, etc from the '85. But if you don't mind the extra work, I'd say swapping the EFI into the '85 would be worth it from a drivability standpoint.
