suspension lift kit

Hi everyone, i am a new member to this forum. i have a 85 4runner with plans of picking up a lift kit. ive done extensive research and found all lift kits to be identical with the exception of springs(marlin crawler, all pro-offroad, trail gear, inchworm gear). these kits come in either 3", 4" or 5". Im not sure what size lift to get that would clear 35x12.50 tires(dont want to be too top heavy). i also want to upgrade all shocks from 5125's to 7100's, would i need specific shock hoops and mounts to use 7100's?

p.s. inchworm recommends using
larger springs in the rear if towing

I had an '86 once that was fine stock with 32s. I have 13.50x35s now and a 5in suspension and 3in body, but no spacers so the tires rub. Don't think 12.5s would rub though. Go witht he bigger lift anyway, although my 86 looked badass all squat and fat

are u running bilsteins 7100's also? .........i was looking at the 4inch lift but thought about the 3inch, a good friend told me running a 3inch would clear 35's and a 4inch would make my truck more tippy which i dont want.

I'd go with the 3in. What are you planning on doing with the truck?

3" front, 4" rear. Gets rid of the sag. You might have a little trimming to do, but it would keep you low.

I have a 3 inch lift along with longer shackles front and rear and 32's rub when I get twisted. I'd go with the 5 inch or do some cutting up front. You could do some custom bump stops to eliminate or minimize the rubbing during flexing.
