I'm trying to decide what suspension system I want to get for my truck. It's a 1985 xtra cab. I'm looking to run 31-33" tires. The truck already has a 3" lift but I'm looking to add an inch to it when I get the kit. Also I've noticed that most kits say something like 4.5" front and 4" rear is this to compensate for the extra weight in the front? Your help would be appreciated.

What kind of 3" lift?

What will you be using the truck for? is it a DD as well?
I dont know why (other than better quality lift parts) you'd want to lift it more than 3". With 3", you'd be able to fit 35's in there with some minor trimming/hammering.

Search a bit on here for 'lift kits' and discover the companies and reputations of all the lift kits out there.

Search around at pics on here and find what your like and read what they got going on.

Also what do you want to do with your rig is also important to know!

Lifts are overrated for wheelin its tires lockers duals and so on that your gonna want. As far as flexy springs and better ride for your rig, cant go wrong with marlin, allpro and trail gear kits! Its nice you already have the SAS

Remember dont lift to the sky cause it doesnt help you! 3" is enough to stuff 37 with minor trimming and pounding!
