Spring removal???

How the hell do I get the springs out of the rear end of my 92 4runner?? I disconected the shocks, sway bar, and lossened up the brake lines. And the dam axle dropped to the ground with the 4runner on jackstands and the springs were still in tight. Am I missing something?

First off, this is the wrong thread for this post... but i'll answer anyways...

You are doing it correctly, did you remove the tires? That will help the axle drop farther. There is no spring reatining clip on your runner, so you just need to drop the axle far enough.....

Really dumb question, but did you take the carrier bolts out of the spring perches? Maybe I'm just reading this wrong...
