No real trick to it. I bolted 95 IFS calipers on my 85 SFA without any problem.

Check and make sure the threads aren't buggered up, and make sure the mount ears/tabs aren't bent

Threads are fine but the bolts are as old as the truck, maybe new bolts?, the ear tabs look true to me. I just can't seem to get even one of the bolts started to hold the Damn thing in place so I can work on the other one. The driver side was much easier but still not a cake walk.

Remove the pads. Most of the aftermarket V6 pads are too big on the bottom and hit the knuckle ears. Grind the bottom of the pads where the squeekers are located.

See it all the time.
