Sluggish Tach Needle

Sluggish Tach Needle
Has anyone had their tach be slow/sluggish on cold mornings? Since it's gotten colder here, I've noticed the tach needle either doesn't move at all or moves very slow. After 5 minutes or so, it seems to work fine. The speedo needle works fine right from start-up.

I bought a used SR5 cluster that I assume was sitting for a while and the tach needle is a little iffy. The movement is probably sticky or damaged and overdampening, yours sounds like sticky. Analog meter movements are delicate but you might be able to lubricate it with a drop of very light oil??

i did the sr5 cluster swap and my tach does the same things if its a nice warm day out it works fine. if its a cold morning then the tach is very sluggish if it evens moves at all. then after 5 or 10 min it starts to work fine

need to lube the cabled to the tach. remove cable to tach, dribble some light oil or wd-40 on the cable end, drive, repeat, a few times a day for a few days to work the lube in. If you want to go nuts, do the same thing on the xfer case side. this works.

your talking about the speedo cable, BKTACO. the tach is ALL ELECTRIC. the cable ur talking about is broken on my truck and my tach works. so no the tach does not run off the speedo cable.
