Sloppy/loose steering
1993 Pickup 4wd single cab 22RE Manual 189,000 miles.
For a while I've noticed that my steering at high speeds feels sloppy and tends to wander a bit from side to side - especially when doing the occasional hauling. I thought maybe the idler arm bushing needed to be replaced but I didn't notice any up/down motion when turning the wheel. In fact, everything is nice and tight - no play in the tie rod ends either. I'm running a rather old (10+ years) Old Man Emu Steering stabilizer. I'm thinking I should start with that but any other things I should check?
Thanks,
JARED

It could be the steering stabilizer but you should check your steering coupler. It connects the steering column to the steering gearbox.

If it's worn the truck will wander at speed, requiring constant steering wheel input to keep the truck going straight.
My '78 was doing this and after I replaced this part, the truck goes straight with very little steering wheel input; almost steers like a new truck.
***EDIT - Forget to add that you might want to repost this in the '86 to 95 Trucks and 4Runners forum, since you say yours is a '93, so you can get some more responses from folks that might have actually come across this problem.

Here's the part: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...g+coupler,7418
For anyone else reading this with interest, the same parts was used on all pickups from 1975 to 1995. !996 and newer Tacomas use a sliding yoke with U-Joint type part.
