shackle Q...

shackle Q...
The angle on my rear shackles...well...sucks. I'm at maybe 15 degrees. Would getting longer shackles help with my angle or should I mount new shackle mounts farther forward to increase the angle. I don't want anymore lift out of them, just better angle so it flexes a little better.
It's late, I'm tired and I sifted through one page of searching, but can't handle anymore.

I'll have to get some pics in the next couple days. That answers my question though.
I think I'll get slightly longer shackles and then move the hangers forward when I weld on my sliders.

Not trying to hi-jack this thread, but.... I recently put some new 4 inch springs on my front end, the exisiting ones were litteraly broke. Anyways I left the older 4 inch rear springs in there because they are sagging but still work. I already had the extended shakels (1 inch) you get from a central 4 wheel drive type of outfit but the rear is still about a inch lower. Is it safer to put even longer shackels on the rear, or should I get the dreaded lift block for the rear?
Thanks,
Kevin

Here is a picture of my shackles. I moved the shackle hanger 1/2", the springs are stock, and the shackles are 6" (I think) long. I'm pretty happy with this. It was very easy to cut off the old shackle mount (they're actually from my 89 parts truck because they are wider than my 84 hangers) and re weld them on.
