95 4Runner SR5 185k. I had to take my heads off to fix a blown head gasket. When removing the connectors to the fuel injectors, I happened to break a few of the clips, since they were so brittle after many years of engine heat and use. They still will slide on, they just don't 'lock' in place when re-connecting them. I would like to replace the broken ones with new ones if possible. Has anyone had this same problem? Please help. I really don't want to secure them with any kind of tape, if I don't have to.

i poped a few clips when i did mine. i said F it and put it back together as is.

 

You can buy a replacement end with wire pigtails. Splice them in. It might have been NAPA we bought them from. (look in the EFI catalog)

Zip tie them on there. That's what they did on my HG recall and that's what I did when I swapped my injectors. It's easy to do and works great.

 

I second the zip tie method. I had a couple get cracked when I changed out my injectors. Zip tied them on and had no problems. I must say that I expected some of the plugs on the wiring harness to be brittle, so I shopped for replacments and could not find them. My options ended up being junkyard parts that were in the same condition or buying a harness from Toyota. If somebody knows where to buy them, let me know so I can pick up some as spares. The square style injector plugs used on Nissans and many other vehicles are VERY easy to find. I got them at Autozone when I had to fix some on my uncle's Maxima. It's the Toyota rounded plugs that are difficult to obtain.

 

I've got the same issue and have a dumb question. Did you guys just use regular zip ties or a special high temp zip tie?
