I have a 1985 4Runner DLX that did not come with rear defrost. However, someone did put rear defrost glass in the tailgate (will be testing it this weekend) and I was able to pick up a switch cheap off ebay. So now I'm searching for wiring, to see if perhaps all models may have been pre-wired. I found this unattached 4-spade plug that comes out of the loom behind the driver's side, right where the rear window/wiper relay module is. It looks like it may be where the rear defogger relay would plug into, as I know it's normally in this general location when 4Runners were optioned with this feature.
Can anyone confirm this is that relay plug for the rear defogger? I doubt it's for the rear speakers since I assume it would only be a two spade plug and I know those aren't standard in DLX models (we only get the puny 4" dash speakers that aim downwards ...).
If so, is it possible there may actually be wiring both to the front dashboard left side with another plug for the switch and also the rear tailgate for the glass/ground connectors? I need to also check the fusebox to see if there is wiring to the Defogger fuse space/wiring in the upper left hand part of the fuse box on the driver kick panel.
