Can anyone confirm... can the rear drum brake cylinders be removed/replaced without removing the axle/backing plate? Thnx in advance.

i cant remember what my issue was, but last time i was in there, i had the entire brake assembly apart, and thought that i couldnt get the cylinder out. i had it unbolted, but thought that i could not remove it from between the backing plate and axle "hub". any advice? or do ii just need to rally my marbles?

Unless your backing plate is bent the wheel cylinder will fit between it and the axle. You may have to line up the space between the studs on the inside of the axle with the cylinder for clearance.
