rattle can paint job - 4runner

I was toying with the idea of stenciling in the silhouette of rigs going down a rocky trail with the rocker panel herculiner instead of doing a straight line across. Would be easy, and look weird from far away, but damn cool up close.
Looks much better either way, you damn redneck.

Kudos of the Redneck Kind!! LOL I have layed down a rattle can primer paint job and toyed with the idea of putting some color to it with spray paint. I just don't know how the final product would turn out so I have focused more on other projects right now! I do have one of those pistol grips too, however I find it really matters what type of nozzle is on the can with or without the pistol grip. Krylon's Rustoleum has the 'blue' nozzles which for me lays down a better coverage area.
Either way you got thumbs up from me on your project!!

Here's the thread regarding the roll-on method. A little long but worth the read. Definately the way to go in terms of application ease, quality, and $$$.

i got rustoleum painters touch (i think thats what it was off the top of my head anyways).... its a flat paint, not a primer....
the nozzle works very well IMO and the paint really covers well.
LOL water is beading off my truck! it hasn't done that since I've owned it...

Yeah, there's just something about those blue nozzles that are sweet and provide a good pattern (that is as long as you are painting a vertical surface and not a horizonal surface!)
Keep up the good work! Curious about the 'stencils' you plan on doing!

I am not sure if it was on this forum or somewhere else who posted a like to a mopar forum, but someone did very little prep work, but used paint from the store and rolled it on using a roller and wet sanding and repeating the process or something. It actually looked like a professional paint job.
Edit:
I found the link in my email from last year, here it is.... You have have to scroll down to the 9th post that gives all the details. He has pictures also, make sure to check it out. The thread is 22 pages or so, but worth the reading for sure.
