Pulling the transmission, have a question?

Quick question. I'm pulling the trans on my '84 PU tomorrow and I haven't had it out in roughly 10 years so I can't remember what I did last time.

When I pull the trans out do I need to support the back of the motor since the trans mount acts like the rear engine mount or will it be OK just hanging there supported by the two motor mounts?

Thanks all

Personally I would block the motor instead of letting it sit there an an angle putting strain on the rubber portion of the mount

Just put a wood block in between the front axle and the oil pan

Ooh yeah. I was starting to pull mine. freezing temperatures and those bolts are what ended it for me. I said screw it, and am just starting my motor swap early. I think that shows how much of a PITA they can be!

Not a pain at all if you have a body lift, as far as the bolts go. Getting it to release from the engine was a fight for me.
