hi i have a 85 toyota and i bought a new alternator about a week ago and a battery about 3 days ago. i started the truck about 15 times and then it finally had a hard time turning over now it wont turn over at all. seems like the alternater isnt charging the battery. Anyone know what i can do? thank you

 

Tisk tisk...If you think you can just walk in here and bring questions into the PICS thread and expect answers, you're actually right. Haha but i'm going to need a pic before i tell you to go to a parts joint and have them throw a test on you're alt/battery to see if they are workin right. If they do it right, they can tell you what the alt is putting out and if the battery is any good.

my '85 4runner i just picked up a couple of weeks ago.

she got a crucial oil leak, that i thought would be fixed when i did the front seal, but upon further investigation, it looks to be a cracked timing cover and probably the dizzy o-ring

either way I love it!

 

Is that camo paint or vinyl?

 

Paint, I'm thinking about going tan though.

 

Just installed a bikini top in preparation for the trails this summer... I like it!
It's the top for a FJ40 converted to fit. I made a plywood header to mate it to the cab.

Picked up this little gem yesterday. Original owner 1984 5 speed. Has a tach, inclinometer, power windows, and bitchin tape deck. The body is shot, which is too bad cause I kinda like the color. New body getting picked up next monday. Build thread to follow...Oh, yeah and that's the window sticker. Suposedly the first 4Runner sold in Charleston.
