pace setter header tight fit?

I just installed a set of pace setters on my 22r and where the tubes come together fits really close to the block. Almost looks like its going to hit the tranny when i stab the motor, just wandering if anyone has a set and if they had the same issue. hopefully I didnt get one of those freak products that was screwed up during assembly

if you do a search you'll notice they are prone to leaking due to the thin flange and many have had to bend and smack their pacesetters to avoid this issue you have with fitment

I have had my USED Pacesetter header on my '95 22re 4Runner for 17K miles, two different heads. I had leaking issues right after I installed it but that was because I tried reusing the old gasket. I got a quality, non-paper type gasket (graphite?) from NAPA. Now, I have not had a leaking problem since. Just sayin....
OP, can you get any pictures of where it gets close to the block?

I have the same issue with mine. They are almost touching the tranny. I had a lot of problems to fix with them before I could even put them on; the worst possible O2 sensor placement there could be (seriously, it wasn't even on the header, it was at the far end of the collector pipe), holes not lining up, blasting and painting with VHT paint (which was the one thing I knew I was going to have to do). And their gaskets suck. It's just not a quality product, you get what you pay for. Perfomance wise I like them, but if I could go back and do it all over again I would've just got a Thorley or LCE header...End rant.

i just put one in my 85 and it does hit the tranny when it is tight to the head. i had to mark mine with soap stone and do a little fab work with a hammer. it is sealed now. they are just cheap. it will work though.
