Opinions needed

Hay guys new to the forums and I could use some opinions. I'm looking at. Buying a 1985 4runner 22re fei automatic tranny. It has 27000 miles on rebuilt engine 1800 on rebuilt tranny and tcase and wants 3000 Obo. It has straight a or upfront so I wouldn't have to bother with 411 gears on 33" tires. The bars are it needs a muffler for smog cause the trucks from the Nevada area, new heater control panel that has all the switches. Think it's worth it. II I end up getting it I'm probley going to to a transmition swap to Manuel. What do you guys think. Thanks for your time

I say go for it. Sounds like a real good deal so long as it's not rusted out underneath.

What do you mean you wouldn't have to worry about gears because it is a straight axle?

It doesn't matter what axle you have you do need proper gearing for your tires.

Since it is an auto there is a good chance it has 4:30 gearing anyway.

If its not beat to crap and not rusty then 3k is an ok deal. Maybe try and talk them down a few hundred bucks because it needs a new exhaust. I bet it has leaky knuckles too, so mention that also.

Definitely swap for a manual in the long run. I have an auto 22re and it sucks big time.
