no one manufactures new Toyota axle. Any theories?

Hey guys, I've been reading a ton about solid axle conversions, the parts, the various kits and so forth. One interesting question I keep asking is "why has no company, or off-road manufacturer, made an axle specifically for Toyota and within Toyota specifications? All the readings, stories, and instructions state that one must find a 79-85 Toyota axle which is fine. But, I keep thinking with the popularity of SAS, and the fact that you buy a new Dana 44 or Ford 9 inch with (IIRC) when doing a various build up, I just wonder why no one has carved out a niche market for offering a new Toyota speced front axle. From what I've read part of the fun ( ???) is finding that front axle. Anyway, anyone with a theory or a thought please post.

Harold

Like a friend of mine says, "It only hurts bad the first time you agree with me."
