i have an 84 22r and i just put a new asembled head on it and new timing chain and after i got it back together i didnt have any oil pressure so i bought a new oil pump and still no oilpressure any ideas it did have oil pressure before i put the new head and timming chain on

 

How are you finding that it has no oil pressure? From the oil pressure gauge? Have you checked your sending unit yet to make sure it is plugged in?

 

yeah i have done that the oil filter is dry and i ran it with the valve cover off it and no pooling of oil i havent ran it more than 10 minutes with the new head on it just a quick start to see if anything has worked

 

hmm....did you check out your pickup to make sure it is not restricted or leaking anywhere? I am assuming that you have put oil back in if you have checked the filter and such.

 

i did check all that stuff i ended up priming the oil pump with vasoline and i got my pressure back it just threw me off because the last time i did all this stuff i didnt have to prime it but thank you for your suggestions
