Talking Light Mounting

I know I have seen a similar thread on mounting areas for lights but can't seem to find it. I have a 85 4runner and I have 2 6" halogen lights i want to mount but I can't think of any idea's on where to mount them. Could anybody help me out?pics would be nice

Like what kind of 6" lights? Like Hella 500's? I just mounted those using the existing bolt holes on my factory bumper. It's easy and all you have to do is just barely ream out the holes to fit the light brackets.

no there not hella's they look almost like kc's so they are pretty deep, those hella's look pretty thin thickness wise, im not home ill have to post up the brand when i get home.

If there "like" the KC's then the bumper idea is out unless you put some extention brackets on to forward mount the lights in the same place. Which is easy. Other than that you could use a lightbar or the mirrors or the vent cowling by the windshield.

i was thinking of using the vent cowling by the windshield, can you take that off?if not you would have to drill holes and somehow mount it, they are called autopal lol

You should be able to pull that cowling off, I can't remember how but I think it's an easy thing to do. However, that cowling is pretty loose so the lights might vibrate like crazy.

hmmmm, well ill have to tinker with that cowling and see how it comes off.
