Just bought an 84 4runner

The body is really rusted out, but the frame is totally solid and the engine, tranny, tcase and axles are in great shape, no leaks. 190k Paid 800 and got an extra transmission and transfer case out of a similar 4runner with just over 100k on the clock.

In driving it today I realized I definitely need some more travel to soak up the bumps, My rear springs are in good shape and have some positive arch left in them so I think I will look into doing the rear to front swap and put some chevy springs in the rear.

Nice find , I really feel for all you gents in the wet parts of the country. Last summer I picked up a 84 Runner myself with almost zero rust anywhere got to love those sunny Southern California vehicals. Picked it up for 1700, body was very straight with a rebuilt engine & a 4" Rancho lift. Almost to nice to offroad almost . Only thing I nad to do was replace the lower crank seal that was leaking pick up some good 33" tires it had little street tires on it and add some oil been driving it ever since. Have fun with your new toy you will love it:rockin. I just ordered Marlin crawler 4.88 diffs with ARB lockers for mine I cannot wait.
