Ignition Coil ?.

Does anybody know the max voltage output of the stock coil ?, and do you think adding a high performance coil would add any power or help with emissions because there would be more power for better combustion ?. This would be for an 85 truck.

I recently replaced my stock sparkplug wires with high-voltage (non-suppression) 8mm AM ones. Old ones were within specs, aside from the longest wire. I didn't like that. I will attest to having noticeable HP gain, and I intend to follow that up with a high-voltage AM e-coil, the Accel super coil. But, since the MudHippy decided to offer his view, prepare for the flood of opposition. I'll add a word of caution regarding my choice of ignition upgrade, non-suppression wires will increase the possibility of electronic disturbance to any on-board electronics. I have none,or no problems that is, my rig is my escape from such distractions. I believe it's around 30,000 Volts, the stock one, don't quote me on that.
