Can it be done? Perhaps.
Is it a plug and play? Nope.
If you are good with electronics and can figure out the wiring schematics, then you could wire in any ignitor you want.

No if it's a 22re and doubtful if it's a 22r. The 78 has to be from a 20r as the 22r's were not made till 81 ????
Of course like DC said, since yo ucan "upgade" the 22r ignitions to use a chevy IGN module, anything might be possible.
