I Could get a deal on thornbirds?

A guy wrecked his truck and tore one up but has 3 almost new 33x12.50x15s Thornbirds for 200$ is it worth it or should I pass.

They wear pretty fast and clog in the mud and dont grip on anything. But go for it if you really want them.

Thanks I hear bad talk about them but I need somethig cheap for now. I don't get in the mud much or put many miles on the truck. Now I have warped 31 inch ats and can't get over 50 with out the vibration rattleing the truck apart

The Thornbirds might rattle you to death too, they are pretty hard to balance. I say talk him down to $150.

Even if you buy 3 shiny turds for cheap...all you have at the end of the day is a stack of shizzle.

only good thing i ever heard about the thornbirds is that they're alright in the sand...other than that, i'd save up for something you'll be ahppy with for a long time, but then again, it's really up to you...

If your getting a good deal and need to replace your old warped tires then it could be a good idea. I would never get thornbirds myself though

Save your cash and watch craigslist like a hawk. I got all 4 of my 33x12.5x15 Wildcat EXT mudders, practicaly brand new, mounted and balanced on some good looking stealies for 400 bucks.

Looks like I'm gonna be the odd man out here but I have a friend who drives his old Jeep Scrambler in the woods on thornbirds and that thing plows through some nasty mud holes.

Definitely bad road manners, though.

I concur on the don't take them even if theyre free, and watch craigslist like a hawk, or do an eBay search and show results nearest you first, find something local that they arent willing to ship ad no one will bid on it. I got 4 baja claws for 380 shipped to my door like new.

i agree w/ watching craigslist
i got 4-33x1250 xterrains and a BFG A/T same size spare w/ ~70% tread for 300
thornbirds are sand/snow tire
i only ever seen like 1 person run them
and i heard about everyone hate them
200 is a really good price tho

Well yall have pretty much talked me out of the thornbirds. I'm proably gonna go with the treadwright recaps for 80.00 a piece. I've been reading the reviews and they seem o.k.?

I have a set of ground hawgs that are 33's in decent shape. Thornbirds are a bog down waiting to happen!
