Are you burning coolant? What color are the plugs? What does the oil on the dipstick look like? You could have a blown head gasket and if there is coolant in your oil, stop driving it! You could still just replace the head gasket instead of having to deal with a seized motor.

If you're not losing coolant the head gasket probably isn't the problem. You can do a compression test, rent the tool and google compresion test. You may have a bad valve, do a wet compression test too to see. You will always have some water at tail pipe normally. What ever the problem is it may have also clogged the catalytic converter.

It sounds like it's running rich. Black smoke indicates unburned fuel exiting the exhaust system. May be a bad fuel pressure regulator.
