Hello & Thanks
Just wanted to introduce myself, as I have been lurking around for some time.... finally got around to asking a question, and I must say that there was a quick reply to something that I wasn't sure that people might know, seeing as I only have a 2WD. (Thanks )
Anyways..... my Tonka is my second truck I've owned, and it actually has a funny story behind it. The guy that my father bought it from custom ordered it pretty much the way that you see it back in '85. For some reason, he thought that it would be a good idea to have the factory add a 6" body lift, 31's, push bar & roll bar, A/C, and a custom paint job to a base Pickup.... Either way, I LOVE it just the way that it is.... waiting to save some money to get a new paint job to paint it as close to what it is now, and a lot of other minor stuffs....
My rig is pretty recognizable, so if you are ever in the 909 - feel free to say whats up....

umm.... yeah.... you know... now that you post that, had to go out and measure....
only a 4" lift.....
it is a 2wd - so my minor lift is still lower than a factory 4wd height...

You can get lift spindles for the front and some blocks for the rear! Then get an automatic locker and you'll almost be up to par with a stock 4WD. All of that can be done for under 600 bucks.
I gotta admit, I thought it was 4WD in the first pic, but then I counted the lug nuts.

Yeah.... one thing at a time tho.... just want to get some lower gears in the rear so that I can do more than 65 on the freeway... 4th is not enough - 5th is too much. Downhill I'm fine

lift spindles:

you won't be able to use blocks on the back since the rear is spring under axle. so you'll have to have perches welded to the top of the axle to put the springs over the axle.
between those two, you'd gain about 3" up front and about 4" in the rear.
