Not all HID set ups came with projector housings factory. I know of a few acuras that used a fluted housing to focus the light. The issue for oncoming glare from HID lighting is not the housings as much as people ordering 9-12k bulbs and not re aiming the lights.

I have an 87 toy with autopal housings (had hellas before) and 6k bixenon DDM kit I have not been flashed once in 3 years unless my brights were on.
