Ummmm on what?
I did my HG on my 22re in a weekend. Started on it Sat morning and drove it Sunday afternoon. I did the HG, relapped the valves, and swapped cam. I was not on it to all hours of the night either. Apart and cleaned a bit Sat, finished cleaning Sunday and had it together.

Well if its just a head gasket job only and nothing else its prob about 2-3 hours. Now thats by me saying if thats what it would take a mechanic to do it in a job book.... if hes asking estimated time on a person whos never done it before then yea it prolly take a whole day. A 22re is a lil more hassle than a 22r though but about the same....

Most shops are going to quote about 8 hours plus parts and supplies, with the caveat of possible complications. If the head goes out to a machine shop, it'll sit for a few more days and cost an extra $200-300 bucks for it. Add a timing set if it hasn't been changed in a while.
