Front shocks for lifted 85 with stock mounts

Picked up the truck and it didn't have front shocks on it, said the stock shocks were too short which makes sense because it supposedly has a 6 inch lift. I cannot seem to find long enough shocks that use the stock style shock mounts, specifically the upper mounts. Longest I saw said they were for up to a 4inch lift.

Any advice?

Thank you

Doug

Cut the stock towers off and weld on some hoops or run no shocks.

I do plan down the road to do the shock hoops, but for this year I would like to just get the bugs out of the truck and give it some light use. No worries running no front shocks?

I did find these that supposedly will fit 1985 pickup with 6" lift??

I definately WOULD NOT run without shocks, but people do it.
Those skyjackers would probably work. Go use a jack or natural feature and cycle the suspension. Measure between top and bottom mounts at full stuff, and full droop. Then you can get shocks that work by using the extended and collapsed lengths of the shock. Leave a little extra each direction so you don't bottom out or overextend the shock. This method is way better than "for 6" lift" shocks. I would get the hoops and some bilstien 5100's personally. Do it right the first time and be satisfied. half-a$$ing to save a buck now will cost more in the long run. I know this from experience.
